Disclaimer

Effective date: October 6, 2026

Hedberg Institute provides educational content and professional training in functional medicine and related health sciences. This Disclaimer applies to hedberginstitute.com and to Hedberg Institute courses, certification programs, videos, presentations, articles, downloads, protocols, practitioner resources, communities, live sessions, emails, and other educational materials (collectively, the “Content”).

1. Educational and professional training purposes only

The Content is provided for educational, informational, and professional-development purposes. It is intended primarily for healthcare practitioners and other qualified professionals, except where particular material is expressly designed for patients or the general public.

The Content is not a substitute for individualized medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, emergency care, legal advice, or other professional services. Viewing, purchasing, or participating in Hedberg Institute Content does not create a clinician-patient relationship between you and Hedberg Institute, Dr. Nikolas Hedberg, or any instructor, contributor, or affiliated professional.

2. Practitioner responsibility and scope of practice

Healthcare practitioners are responsible for exercising independent professional judgment and for practicing within all laws, regulations, licensure requirements, professional standards, and scope-of-practice rules that apply to them.

Educational discussion of laboratory testing, nutrition, dietary strategies, supplements, botanical medicine, lifestyle interventions, medications, clinical reasoning, or other approaches does not mean that any particular intervention is appropriate for every patient. Practitioners are responsible for patient-specific assessment, informed consent, contraindication and interaction review, monitoring, documentation, referral, and collaboration with other qualified healthcare professionals when appropriate.

3. No individualized medical advice for website visitors

Information available publicly on the Hedberg Institute website should not be used by an individual to diagnose or treat a personal health condition. If you have questions or concerns about your health, consult an appropriately licensed healthcare professional who can evaluate your individual circumstances.

Do not disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of information you have read, watched, heard, or downloaded from Hedberg Institute.

4. Medical emergencies

Hedberg Institute websites, courses, communities, email, and other educational channels are not emergency medical services and are not monitored for emergencies.

If you believe you or another person may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 in the United States or contact the appropriate emergency service in your location.

5. Medical research and evolving evidence

Medicine and health science evolve continuously. New research may change the interpretation of previously published findings, clinical recommendations, laboratory methods, risk-benefit assessments, or other information discussed in the Content.

Hedberg Institute strives to provide accurate, evidence-informed education, but does not warrant that every statement, citation, protocol, presentation, or resource is complete, error-free, or reflects the most recent evidence at every point in time. Publication or course dates should be considered when evaluating clinical material.

6. Research interpretation and strength of evidence

The Content may include discussion of observational research, clinical trials, mechanistic studies, case reports, professional experience, emerging hypotheses, and areas in which evidence is incomplete or contested. The presence of a biological mechanism, association, laboratory finding, or clinical hypothesis does not by itself establish causation or prove that an intervention will improve clinical outcomes.

Practitioners should evaluate the quality, applicability, limitations, and totality of the evidence when making clinical decisions.

7. Supplements, botanical products, foods, and other products

Hedberg Institute may discuss dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, botanical products, foods, devices, laboratory services, or other commercial products. Discussion of a product does not constitute a guarantee of safety, efficacy, quality, regulatory status, or suitability for any particular individual.

Statements concerning dietary supplements or other products may not have been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Unless a product has been specifically approved for a medical indication, references to that product should not be understood as a claim that the product diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents disease.

Practitioners and consumers should independently evaluate product quality, labeling, contraindications, interactions, dosing, legal status, and appropriateness.

8. No guarantee of outcomes

Hedberg Institute does not guarantee any particular patient outcome, symptom improvement, laboratory change, clinical result, professional opportunity, income level, practice growth, licensing-board determination, continuing-education approval, or other result from use of the Content or participation in a Hedberg Institute program.

Individual outcomes depend on numerous factors and may vary substantially.
